Show I Wednesday. August 23. 2006 C7 .Vernal Express, Mnttte strutted COTrty The Strut Your Mutt dog thorough in their adjudication, begins the event. The selection Siersma and Bull, Labrador Tl. Pr Jbanuf event began in 2000 at .the Uintah County Fair, so the 2006 show on August 16 was Number Seven. Seven is the lucky number, apparently, because this show set a new record in participants: partici-pants: 76 entries, minus two no-shows, no-shows, making a total of 74 participants. par-ticipants. The previous record high was 69 contestants in 2004. : Bill Johnson, Emcee, remarked, "This is one of the fair events that brings many participants and is a lot of fun for families." Judges Sandra Besseghini and Ellen Riechert were very conscientious and Sandra handles the publicity and outreach for the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Trials, and knows what makes a dog special, spe-cial, why training is so important, impor-tant, and is sensitive to the interaction between dog and owner. Ellen has worked in the Judges' Tent for 19 years at the Meeker Classic. Because she is not doing that for the 2006 Trials, Uintah County Fair Strut Your Mutt was fortunate to have her experience for this event. An ensemble from USOMATA provided music for the "Strut," the parade march which " 1 111111 mammm Jazzy and Malorie Miles took first place in the Close Resemblance Class. r n w vVktMi 4 Ilti J09 flllifll ' llilil Jiiiill Best costumed toy poodle Sydney and Carlie Harrison show off their tutus.
