Alix Ann Williams, daughter of Ben and Denise Williams, was born May 31, 2003. Donovan Thomas Moon, son of Rick and Gena Moon, was born May 30, 2003. Tristen Olsen, son of Tyler and Nicole Olsen, was born June 1, 2003. Brandy Keele of Vernal was recently selected to participate in the Mission on Medicine in Australia from May 28 to June 8. She will join 80 other college and university students from throughout the United States interested in medical medi-cal careers for a culturally enriching experience designed to add to each participant's personal knowledge, as well as academic and pre-profes-sional profiles. Keele will visit the extraordinary cities of Sydney and Cairns and the distinguished halls of the University of Sydney School of Medicine and James Cook University. Through observation and dialogues with medical staff, participants will also gain perspective on how western west-ern doctors administer care to Australia's many ethnic groups. "As students like Brandy Keele progress in their studies, it becomes increasingly important to gain a full perspective on how medicine is practiced in the United States and abroad," said John Hines, executive execu-tive director of Envision Institute, the organization that sponsors the International Missions. "The International Mission on Medicine joins the efforts of colleges and universities in offering experiential education that complements and enhances a college education." The program curriculum will introduce its participants to the pharmacology of the Aboriginal people and will provide a glimpse into current medical research being conducted at the Great Barrier Reef. Keele, a 2002 graduate of Uintah High School, is currently a student at Utah State University where she is working toward a degree in the medical field. She has been named to the Dean's List, which is a requirement to participate in the Internationl Mission on Medicine. PfauUtKty lime!
