She passed away May 23 at Rush Foundation Hospital in vleridian. Miss., due to complica-ions complica-ions of pneumonia. She lived in Duchesne and -apoint as a child. She married ecil (Vern) Kofford in Reno, Mev. in 1964. They lived in Sandy ind other parts of Utah. They later Jivorced. She married Steve Shockney n Las Vegas, Nev. in 1983. They ived in Salt Lake for a while, then n Ketchikan, Alaska, for a couple ears. Then they lived in Vernal or a while, then Nevada, then ater moved to Philadelphia, Miss., A'here Steve passed away from lean problems in 1994. She then met and married Kenneth (Ken) Massey of Decatur, Miss, on Oct. 13, 1995, where they lave lived happily for the past nine years. Deanna was never able to have .hildren of her own, but she loved ill her nieces and nephews and itep-children and step-grandchil-Jren as if they were her own. She loved all her family, each and very one, with an unconditional love. She loved the mountains. She loved her pets. She always had little Jogs that she treated like her kids. She loved life, she loved to give love and be loved. She had the most beautiful smile, and a very wonderful wonder-ful laugh, that could make anyone ;mile. She was loved deeply by everyone that knew her. We will all love and miss her very much. She is survived by her husband hus-band Kenneth (Ken) Massey of Decatur, Miss., three step-children: Christina, Wayne and Doug Massey ;f Newton, Miss., and two step-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; two sisters: Adella Barney (Muse) of Tridell, and Ada Cook of Lapoint; one brother, Neal Barney of Union, Miss.; nieces: Tena Dall (Doug) Gardiner of Vernal, Utah, Mit.i (Brian) Dugan of Vernal, Pam Muse of Roosevelt, and Connie Baum of Arizona; nephews: Heath (Minda) Muse of Neola, and Ray Baum of Arizona; and other step-children with Steve Shockney. Martha was born April 17, 1929, to Harry and Maude Mariner. Martha married Harry A. Keser on June 7, 1949 in Kentucky. She loved being w ith her husband, her nine children, her 23 grandchildren grandchil-dren and especially her little dog. Pooch ie. Martha is survived by her husband, hus-band, Harry A. Keser of Vernal, her brother John Mariner of Lovington 111. Also, her sons, John A. Keser of West Valley, Harry Keser Jr. of Grand Junction, Colo., Robbie L. Keser of Vernal and Alvin K. Keser Jason Ellis Jason Ellis, 22, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 28, 2(X)4 after a short but intense battle w ith renal failure. He is survived by his mother, Natalie Ellis of Columbus, Ohio; his father, Jeffrey Ellis of Vernal; grandparents, Larry and Sandi Kelly of Possum Kingdom, Texas, Pat Neill of VVol forth, Texas, and Glenn Neill Sr. of Lubbock, Texas; uncles, Craig Belfield, Robert Belfield, John Ellis, and Glenn Neill Jr.; numerous cousins; and thousands of friends he made during dur-ing his travels. Though his time here was far too short, he impacted many lives with his incredible personality and zest for life. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Frederick J. Newman Frederick J. Newman, 69, passed away at the University of Utah Medical Center on May 27, 2004, from cancer. "Bud" Newman was born to Claire Pitchell and Frederick Newman in Elisabeth, New Jersey on Sept. 3, 1934. He served in the U.S. Navy during dur-ing the Korean War from 1951-1955 1951-1955 aboard the Destroyer, J.C. Owens. He began a 40-year career in law enforcement in Linden, New Jersey and then he moved to Colorado, serving the police force at Rangely, Colo, and as deputy sheriff for the Moffat County Sheriff's department. depart-ment. After his retirement from law enforcement, he worked for the National Park Service at Dinosaur National Monument. Bud and his wife, Deane moved from Dinosaur, Colo, to Vernal, Utah in 2000.
