Country music seems to be a pretty pret-ty good pressure valve, for me personally per-sonally and for the country as a whole as witnessed by our first selection. Current Release- Toby Keith: "Unleashed" Country music, unlike many other genre, never hesitates to wear patriotism patri-otism on its' sleeve and this album is no exception. With "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue" sitting at the top of the charts, Toby gives us a much needed vaccination against the rabid force we are battling in the world. The follow-up singles "It's All Good" and "Who's Your Daddy" are soon to be climbing the charts as well, but my favorite is the duet with Willie Nelson, "Beer For My Horses." The rest of the album, however, has it's ups and downs. The track "Good To Go To Mexico" features a very confused sounding mariachi background and "Losing My Touch" falls short as a bar room confessional. Most of the rest of the album is merely mediocre, good listening lis-tening but nothing really exceptional. exception-al. I am sure big Toby fans will disagree dis-agree with me, but even with its' rousing opening and closing tracks, I can only give "Unleashed" a rating rat-ing of l2. Current Release- Lee Ann Womack: "Something Worth Leaving Behind" Only time will tell if Lee Ann set the bar to high, now following her previous smash hit "1 Hope You Dance" with this pleasing but fairly sedate effort. With most of the songs in the 'Loved and Lost' category, cate-gory, the welcome optimism of "I Need You" and "When You Gonna Run To Me" is nice. Her hope of a musical legacy in the title track and overcoming feeling like a misfit in "Orphan Train" are self-felt tales of her career. I am hoping this work will continue to "grow on me. as I really do like iL But for now. as a rebound effort. I can only give it Just as a side note, other country artists who have recently released greatest hits albums include: Kenny Rogers, Mickey Gilley. Joe Diffie, Collin Raye, Tanya Tucker. Shanandoah. Johnny Cash. George Jones, Willie Nelson. Jerry Jeff Walker. David Allan Coe and Diamond Rio. Vernal Express Wednesday. Students are selected on the basis of academic performance and a history of community involvement. Carter is a 2002 graduate of Uintah High School. She graduated with a 3.75 grade point average. In addition to being an excellent student. stu-dent. Carter made time to give service ser-vice to her community. In high school she was a member of the Panther Club which provides service ser-vice to people with disabilities. She also volunteered to help with Special Olympics' programs at care centers and spent time helping younger students involved in the DECCAclub.
