I f I IF - 1- .J - met vt . - C2E3 Dodge i ' cm Badge i i Proposition 5 Will Not Protect Your Hunting Rights Why You Should VOTE On Proposition 5 Proposition 5 will not IT WILL NOT prevent "outsiders" from controlling our wildlife... In fact, it will prevent you from voicing your opinion in the future. IT WILL NOT give rural Utahns a voice in wildlife management... In fact, Proposition 5 will lessen rural Utah citizens input regarding our wildlife. IT WILL NOT protect our hunting traditions... In fact, it will give politicians even more control. IT WILL NOT preserve wildlife populations, In fact, politics will determine numbers more than ever. IT WILL NOT keep professionals in charge of wildlife management... In fact, it will further politicize wildlife policies and weaken public input into wildlife issues. Proposition 5 supporters assume that future decisions by the state wildlife board and UDWR will favor hunting and trapping as currently exist. But as the structure changes and decisions start being made that harm hunting, then hunters will have to meet the same raised standard of 67. Proposition 5 only prevents wildlife decisions at the ballot box. It does not guarantee that political changes at the state level will protect your rights. Proposition 5 will also prevent future incentives on the ballot from passing that address such critical issues as wildlife habitat protection - the loss of which is the single most critical issue to future wildlife management. Join the increasing numbers of hunters, biologists (Don Duff Fisheries biologist trout unlimited, etc.) politicians (Merrill Cook, etc.), hunting and non-hunting organizations (Audubon, League of Women Voters) and public media (KSL, Salt Lake Tribune, Deseret News, etc.) in opposing Proposition 5. The future of wildlife in the state of Utah depends on an educated public working together to address the real issues of wildlife habitat loss.
