Bairlbeir Duairogs nop cDnpipeirs "Old barbers never die, they just turn into lather." After almost 40 year in the hair cutting business, Lyle W. Glincs, 85, is retiring. "I will miss my old friends," said Glincs about his retirement. "I especially espe-cially enjoyed the visits and barber shop conversations." For the past 25 years, Glines has operated his barber shop from a room on the south side of his Maeser home. "Some of my best customers are in the cemetery," Glines said. During his 40 years, he has given countless haircuts. Some people have had their hair cut by Glines since they were small children. chil-dren. Before coming to Maeser, Glines operated a barber shop in Salt Lake City for 10 years. When he came to this area in 1S62, lie was located at the Maeser Shopping Center for 10 years. Many people affectionately refer to Glines as "the fanner barber." Many times when customers would come to his home for a hair cut, he would be in the garden working. "I would come in, do a few haircuts and return to my garden," he said about how he was given the nickname. nick-name. Many times underneath his barber's shirt were his farming overalls. Leavitt has announced the names of the newly formed, seven member Wildlife Board of Utah. All board appointees are subject to Senate confirmation. The following are the new members and the geographic areas they represent: repre-sent: Rick E. Danvir, Woodruff, will represent the Northern Region, serving serv-ing a two-year term. He is currently a wildlife manager for Deseret Lands and Livestock. He was formerly for-merly a wildlife biologist for the same company. Prior to that position, posi-tion, he served as a research associate associ-ate at the Utah Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit, Utah State University. Also representing the Northern Region for a two-year term is Brenda Freeman, Odgen. She is a State Farm Insurance agent and a former presidentfinancial officer at McKay Hospital Credit Union and Cutter Laboratories Credit Union. The Northeast Region will be represented rep-resented for a six-year term by B. Curtis Dastrup, Roosevelt, owner of Basin Livestock Auction and a Duchesne County commissioner. He is president of the Duchesne County Cattleman's Association and chairs the Uintah Basin Association of Government Board. Connie Brooks, Highland, and J. Collin Allan, Mapleton, will represent repre-sent the Central Region. Brooks will serve a four-year term and Allan a six-year term. Brooks is vice president of Barnes Bullets, a bullet manufacturing business and is president of the Utah Chapter of Safari Club International. She is also active in the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep. Allan, vice president and manager for First Security Bank, is president of the Nebo School Board and is on the Mapleton City Council and the Mapleton City Planning Commission. The Southern Region will be represented rep-resented by Raymond V. Heaton, Alton, a cattle rancher and owner of a hunting outfitting business. He has also served on a Regional Wildlife Advisory Committee and the Alton Town Board. Representing the Southeast Region will be Max G. Morgan, Price, a surgeon who is a member of the Castleview Hospital Governing Board and whose education prior to medical school centered on range ecology and wildlife management. He served two years on the former Wildlife Board. The Utah Legislature voted in the 1995 session to create a single board for the Division of Wildlife Resources, combining the former Wildlife Board and the Board of Big Game Control.
