Emmet and Newman and Emmett to be honored at open house Elisa Dahl Newman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Newman of Sandy, will become the bride of Daniel David Emmett, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Emmett of Vernal, in a wedding ceremony, Friday, Oct. 21 in Sandy. The newlyweds will be honored at a reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mountain Oaks Chapel, 11755 South Highland Drive in Sandy. They will be guests of honor at an Pederson celebrates 80 years young C. P. Pederson, known at "Pete" to his family and friends, was the guest of honor Sunday, Oct 16 for his 80th birthday celebration. Pete was born OcL 17, 1914 in Van Hook, N. D., where he lived on a farm until he graduated from bight school. Pete then attended and graduated grad-uated from dicscl mechanic school in Seattle, Wash. Pete married Jessie Klcinsmith in Cutbank, Mont on June 12, 1937. They arc the parents of four children, chil-dren, Barbara Bilbcy, Vernal; Ron Pederson, Ft Wayne, Ind.; Gaylc Anderjack, Gkndalc, Ariz.; and Kathleen Burrows, Kanab. They have 12 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. After serving three years in the U. S. Navy during World War II, Pete continued his oilfield work throughout through-out Montana, Wyoming and Utah, lie moved to Vernal in 1949, and in 1956 Pete built a welding and machine ma-chine shop. He retired in 1980 and sold the business to hi ton.
