McClellan out Eagle Maeser Elementary School now has a large map of the United States painted on their playground as a result re-sult of Tyson McClellan's Eagle Scout project. Young Brothers Paint Company donated the paint for the map and the Maeser PTA provided the stencil. He is a member of Troop 233 of the Vernal First Ward under the direction direc-tion of Glade Southam. Holmes is a fifth grade student at Central Elementary. He loves to ride his bike, play all types of sports and the piano, and collects coins. He also al-so enjoys fishing. Hamann, son of Clay L. and C. Beth Hamann, received his Arrow of Light Award during Pack meeting on Aug. 24. He is a member mem-ber of Troop 231 of the Maeser Second Ward under the direction of Earleen Peltier and Diane Walker. Hamann is a fifth grade student at Maeser Elementary. He enjoys collecting col-lecting stamps, riding his bike and horses, fishing, shooting and hunting. hunt-ing. Hamann also received his "20er Award" for earning all 20 scouting pins. Dinah Sams 11 Dinah Sams 11 club members held a campout Aug. 18 through Aug. 20 at Lodgcpolc campground with 26 in attendance. The event was hosted by Allan Gentry and Tex Swcaificld and their families. The hosts cooked two barbecues and one breakfast President Bob Zcllcr reported about the 128 rigs attending the Wyoming Samborcc in Rock Springs in July. Only two from Utah were present: Bob Zcllcr and John Carters of the Vernal club. Alice White won a wrist watch and Betty Zcllcr won some groceries as door prizes. ' " Seth Mayberry Mayberry recieves Arrow of Light Award Seth Mayberry, son of Shane and Erin Mayberry, received his Arrow of Light Award during pack meeting, meet-ing, Aug. 23. He is a member of Troop 232 of the Vernal Second Ward. His father assisted him in his quest to obtain the award. Mayberry is a fifth grade student at Naples Elementary and says his favorite subject is science. He's intrigued in-trigued by the operation of motors and enjoys dismantling and rebuilding rebuild-ing them. Aw Syttem , H sh i 4 MMM jm4 Off tV Arrowchis attend a rally Frank and Glenda Arrowchis attended at-tended a four day Rider motorcycle rally in Steamboat Springs, Colo., sponsored by Rider magazine. They rode their bike to the rally. The oldest old-est rider was 87 from Texas and the farthest were from Australia. The rally ended on Saturday with a banquet. ban-quet. Door prizes were given out every ev-ery hour. The final drawing was for a camp trailer and motorcycle. Frank and Glenda said the rally was well attended and worth their time. Zella Pike attended a bridal shower show-er in Vernal last Saturday for Alison Risbon who is marrying Chris Secakuku, Zella's grandson. Chris is the son of Sandy Naupoto and Ferron Secakuku. John and LaRae Moosman, with their daughters, took Laura to Orem where she is enrolled at Utah Valley State College for the upcoming school year. The John Moosmans drove to Cascade Park in Orem to attend the Norval Kitchen family reunion. It was held on Aug. 20 with about 100 family members in attendance. The children played while the adults visited vis-ited and did genealogy. Each family brought their own lunch for the picnic. pic-nic. Cliff and Connie Pike, Trade, Camille and Jason, drove to Orem to move Jason in with Connie's mother, Laura Nusink. He will be living at Nusink's home while attending at-tending Utah Valley State College. While there, the Pikes attended a 89th birthday celebration for Connie's grandfather, Clarence Christensen of Payson. Flynn, Teri, Mikalyn and Flynn, Jr. of Salt Lake City, came to the area last week to visit with Loraine Paulson. Mikalyn stayed for five days. Loraine and Robby Paulson, Chad Gault, Barbie Richcns and George Richcns took their horses to the High Uintas and camped for four days. They spent the time sight seeing see-ing by horseback and fishing.
