Show 22 Yerml Expren Wednesday, August 26, 1992 Tennis, cross country begin action this week The girls tennis team along with new Head Coach Ron Enloe begin their season today (Wednesday) with a tri-meet against Grantsville and Tooele away. Working with an experienced and young team, Enloe feels this could be the year the Lady Utes break the strangle hold Lehi has held on the region. "The team is talented and has the ability to take region this year. It will be interesting to see what happens." Meanwhile, the Ute harriers travel to Green River, Wyoming for the Green River Invitational Friday the 28th. The defending region champi ons are more experienced and deeper deep-er than last year, with high expectations expecta-tions for their most competitive and successful season ever. With veteran veter-an coaches Marland Stagg and Dave Olsen at the helm, prospects are bright for the team. Flag football The Uintah Recreation Association is now accepting registration regis-tration for Youth Flag Football. Parents may register their children at the Recreation office located on the 3rd floor of the StateCounty building, 152 East 100 North. Cost for the program is $15 per child. Football is open to boys and girls entering 3rd through 8th grade and participants will be placed on teams in their age groups. Games will be played on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the main baseballsoft-ball baseballsoft-ball complex. Registration deadline for Flag Football is Friday Sept. 4, 1992 and practice will begin the week of Sept. 14. For more information please contact the Recreation Association at 781-0770 ext. 486. The volleyball program will in clude clinics, instructional demonstrations demon-strations and games all with the help and guidance of Head volleyball volley-ball Coach Ken Yama and Colleen Hawkins along with the Uintah High School volleyball team. Registration deadline is Friday Sept, 4th with the first night of volleyball vol-leyball on Tuesday, Sept. 8 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the small high school gym.
