The trophy will be given away at the First Annual Mayor's Cup Championship horse show. , Mayor's Cup Championship horse show announced The Rising Star Riders, a family saddle club, and VernaTs Mayor, Leonard Heeney, have teamed up to sponsor a different type of horse show. The show, known as the First Annual Mayor's Cup Championship Charity horse show will be different in three ways. The big difference between this show and other horse shows is that 100 percent of the profits will be put into a pool which will be awarded to a designated legitimate le-gitimate local charity of the winning club's choice. This charity must be approved by the Mayor. This show will be open to all riders, rid-ers, clubs and groups, as well as individuals in-dividuals who do not belong to a club but wish to participate. If an individual in-dividual does not belong to a club or team, but wishes to ride in the show, the committee will assign that individual' to a team. The Charity Horse Show will take place July 6, at the Western Park. Sign ups for the show will begin at 9 a.m. with the show starting promptly at 10 a.m. Another difference in this show is that while there will be three usual age groups of 11 and under, 12 to 15 and adult categories, there will also be special group for novices that meet one of the following criteria: be 45 or older, never won a first or second place ribbon in an open show, or riding a horse that has never nev-er been in competition before. The third feature that makes this show unique is the awards that will be offered. There will be first place trophies in each event with ribbons to fifth place. The high point individual indi-vidual in each age group will be awarded a hand painted tee-shirt designed de-signed by a local artist featuring the logo for the show. A traveling trophy tro-phy will be awarded to the winning club. The trophy, which stands 36 and one-half inches tall will be engraved en-graved with the winning club's name. It will be on display in a special spe-cial trophy case being built at the Western Park complex. Events for the show will be Egg and Spoon, Barrels, Flag Race, Western Jumping, Pole Bending and Key Race.
