J if J, f i j r v ") 0 1 f f. -, Sandria Stubbs and Anthony Wilde Jordan River Temple wedding for Stubbs-Wilde Sandria Stubbs, daughter of Van and Joyce Stubbs of Vernal, will become be-come the bride of Anthony V, Wilde, son of Elmon and Janice Wilde of Salt Lake City on Thursday, Sept. 13, in the Jordan River LDS Temple. An openhouse honoring the couple cou-ple will be held at the home of the bride's parents at 2015 E. 3250 S. from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Sept. 15. Sandria is a 1983 graduate of Uintah High School. She has also attended Brigham Young BYU Emeritus Club elects Vernal native Brigham Young University's Alumni Association has elected Vernal native, Earl W. Bascom to its Emeritus Club. Earl Bascom, now of Victorville, California, was born in Vernal in 1906. He entered college col-lege in 1933 at the Brigharn Young University and graduated in 1940 with a major in Fine Arts. Mr. Bascom has since become an internationally known artist. During his college years, Bascom rodeocd professionally during the summers to pay for his education. He was declared de-clared "Rodeo's First Collegiate Cowboy" and has been inducted into in-to the Utah Sports Hall of Fame for his achievements. In 1989 Bascom was honored as Vernal 's "Legendary Cowboy". All members of the BYU Emeritus Club must have graduated from Brigham Young University at least Fifty years ago. Golden Age Center Activities by Ada Hello everyone. I am real happy to be back with all you good people after spending two weekends in Wyo. with my daughter. I had a very enjoyable time but it is nice to be back and see all of your smiling faces. In regards to the elections held Monday, Sept. 10, 1 want to suggest we stand behind whoever is elected 100 percent. We should work together to-gether for the benefit of everyone. We were able to dance on the new floor Friday night. Over 70 people enjoyed the dance. Guy Stewart played his banjo with the orchestra. Thanks so much, Guy. Clint is a 1984 graduate of Silverton High School in Silverton, Ore. Murray they are to us. They help us keep things running smoothly. Advrttising ('I Vernal Vj Express ) UINTAH COUNTY Fair Director Jean Fabrizio presented a plaque pla-que to Leah Hamson for being the Outstanding Uintah County Fair Worker of 1990. Hamson honored for outstanding service Leah Hamson was recently named the Outstanding Uintah County Fair Worker of 1990. Uintah County Fair Director Jean Fabrizio awarded Hamson with a plaque for dedicated service. Hamson has served as secretary for the past two years on the Uintah County Fair Board. "It was really interesting work," she said. "The1 people I worked with were so nice and it was an opportunity to meet more people than I probably ever would have done." Fabrizio said Hamson was the perfect per-fect recipient of the award because Xi Alpha Xi holds celebration Xi Alpha Xi held its beginning day celebration on Thursday, August 30, at the home of Barbara Brewer. Members enjoyed catching up on the news of the summer and had a dessert potluck. Yearbooks for the year were passed out. The books centered around the theme "Celebrate the Magic." Thclma Hicks was elected as vice president and Vivien Rice-Smuin will fill the corresponding office as secretary. Jenkins reunion held at Big Springs The Frank and Mable Jenkins family reunion was held at Big Springs over Labor Day weekend. The children of Frank and Mable Jenkins meet each year in remembrance remem-brance of their parents. The Jenkins' had 10 children, seven of whom are still living; they are: David Jenkins, Mcrl Horrocks of Lapoint, Earl 'Nick Jenkins of Payson, Reva Workman of Roosevelt, Jack E.
