Show 1G Vernal Express Wednesday, - i ssAi Dale Nash Nash becomes director at Thiokol Dale Nash, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nash of Vernal, was recently made a director at Morton Thiokol. Nash is a 1973 graduate of Uintah High School, later graduating from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering. After graduation, Nash began his professional career at Kaiser Resources, LTD. Nash worked at Hercules Aerospace in a number of positions. From there he moved to ThiokoFs Tactical Division as a project manager for MRP1I Implementation. He then served as a consultant to Arthur Young, assisting Northrup Aircraft Division implement an MPRII System. Nash and wife, Beth, have three children. In his spare time, Nash enjoys en-joys sports, especially coaching, fly fishing, golfing and skiing. Students from Central Elementary will participate in August 4 parade Children attending Central Elementary School have been invited invit-ed to participate in the Uintah County Fair Parade to be held Aug. 4. Children should meet at 8:30 a.m. for judging at the the Ashley Stake Center at 850 West 100 North. Kids should bring decorated bicycles and be dressed in school t-shirts or blue and white clothing. Dr. Marion Bcntlcy from USU will be the teacher. Guest speakers will be from local lawyers, accountants accoun-tants and bankers. Orientation for the course will be at the USU Extension Center on September 6ih at 7:00 p.m. and will last approximately one half hour. Neil Bartlett took first place, Doug Page took second and Ray Natani took third. Edna Wallace had surgery performed per-formed on her hand last week at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Goodrich of Weiser, Idaho are visiting this week at the Rae Goodrich and Doug Page homes. They were at the Salt Lake airport Thursday to welcome their son, Elder Stanley Goodrich, home from his mission. Many family members attended his homecoming report Sunday. Mrs. David Ellison and daughter, Michelle, of Tooele visited with Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Simmons and Mrs. Margaret Ellison last weekend. Michael and Shirley Saxey of Sandy visited with the Dennis Goodrich family Sunday. Christine and Ray Martinsen and family of Tucson, Ariz, visited the Enes Hatch home in Vemal for the past two weeks. Prevent Burn Injuries An informative booklet and two new films can help parents learn how to prevent burn injuries and treat those that happen. Booklet and films were produced by the Shriners Hospitals, which offer free medical care to children at 19 orthopaedic and three burns hospitals nationwide. The films were recognized for their excellence in educating children chil-dren about burn prevention. "An Ounce of Prevention," a film which was an integral part of the Shrine's successful "Stop Burn Injuries" educational edu-cational campaign, was recognized by the United States Department of State. "The Jamie Fort Story" won first place honors at the Birmingham Bir-mingham International Educational Film Festival. Pope of Vemal enlisted in the U.S. Air Force's Delayed Enlistment Program according to SSgt. Roger Trumper. Pope, a 1989 graduate of Uintah High School is scheduled for enlistment enlist-ment in the Regular Air Force on 11 Oct. 1990. ' Upon graduation from the Air Force's six week basic training course, he is scheduled to receive technical training in the Aerospace Propulsion Specialist area. Pope will be earning credits toward to-ward an associate degree in applied sciences through the Community College of the Air Force while attending at-tending basic and other Air Force technical training schools. V , J a .-23 rxf 1 Uintah High School Drill Team completes USA Camp in Logan The Uintah High School Drill Team has recently attended USA Camp in Logan. The girls learned new routines and competed against other schools statewide, winning a top-rank Superior plaque, a Spirit Stick for team unity, the Friendship Boot award, as well as many individual indi-vidual awards including eight first place ribbons, three second place ribbons and three third place ribbons rib-bons in the drill down competitions. There were also eight Super Sensational ribbons won. Nikki Lemon, head drill mistress, was chosen as a top ten finalist in the Miss Super Sensational competition, competi-tion, representing the U'ettes well.
