Show 2 Discover Dinosaurland June 22, 1988 1988 Rodeo promises summer excitement Rodeo is truly an American sport unlike so many of the sports that we have borrowed from European cultures, rodeo had it's beginnings in the Old West. It started when the hardy men of those bygone days would get together to rope and brand when a cowboy didn't always al-ways have time to break a horse. It began as a test of skill and evolved into a social event that brought people from miles around. Today rodeo stock is well cared for and sleek, but many of the other early elements of rodeo are still present. Cowboys and cowgirls cow-girls work hard to perfect their skills and it takes a special kind of raw courage and an independent indepen-dent spirit to become involved with rodeo. Rodeo people are the same throughout the world. Speaking of rodeo people, one of the most popular rodeo individuals indi-viduals in the area is the 1988 President of the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, Art Ylincheta. Art and his wife, Jill, have two sons, Chris and Joe. Together, the four of them have made the rodeo a family enterprise. Hard work, dedication and humor has combined com-bined to make the Ylincheta family fam-ily Vcrnal's First Family of Rodeo. The friendly atmosphere welcomes wel-comes cowboys and fans alike, and here in Vernal, we're proud of the high quality and professionally profes-sionally produced Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo.
