FREEBIE Ever notice how some people never smile? I used us-ed to know a guy who was so-o grouchy I'm sure his face would of, literally, cracked if he'd smiled. Waves don't come from grouchy people either. They may about run over someone walking or jogging but wave, no sirree! Smiles and waves are the same in any language and they're FREE ! They cost nothing, yet give so much. SUCCESSFUL Zachild CARE Intergenerationa! Sharing Intergenerational sharing big words with a simple meaning... bringing together young and old for experiences beneficial to both. 'JTD Forming positive attitudes to--ward older people and the aging process begins at an early age. Young children can offer warmth and attention that add an important impor-tant dimension to the life of the older person. One example of an intergenerational intergenera-tional program is Big Hearts, Little hearts...A Sharing Of Generations recently launched by Kinder-Care Learning Centers. The new program pro-gram has four phases: awareness and understanding of the aging process; contact with families, grandparents, great-grandparents and friends of all generations with Kinder-Care centers; community involvement linking centers with Kingsbury Church carnival to have 'wet' atmosphere There is nothing dry about the entertainment planned for the the Kingsbury Church carnival to be Saturday, August 16 from 2 to 8 p.m. in the church parking lot Events such as rescuing Noah's animals, finding lost sea monsters or throwing wet sponges at Paster Earl Menchhofer will be open to everyone. The carnival is sponsored by the Board of Christian Education and the Committee of Christian Fellowship of Kingsbury Church. "Lots of fun is promised," stated Pastor Menchhofer. There will be games, fun food and prizes in the booths alone with a bake sale and face painting. "The proceeds of the Kingsbury Church carnival will be divided between bet-ween the new church starting in Kanab, Utah and the beginning of the groups serving the older generations; genera-tions; bringing older Americans into in-to the centers from the community. By sharing such activities as singing, arts and crafts, gardening, reading and story-telling a greater understanding, respect and affection affec-tion can be fostered between the generations. A Checklist on Child Care is available avail-able free by writing to: Kinder-Care Learning Centers, Inc., Dept. 86-C, P.O. Box 1563, Atlanta, GA 30301. "In language clarity is everything." Confucius We would like to thank all those who were so kind to us in our recent and sudden loss of our most devoted husband, Doyle Smuin. Through cards, floral offerings, food and many other kind expressions of sympathy. A special thanks to the Thomson Funeral Home, and to all those who helped in the funeral services. Tne Doyie Smuin Family Kingsbury camp scholarship fund. Molly Glover, Board of Christian Education chairperson, commented, "We at Kingsbury Church want to do our share of assisting the mission church in Kanab for we were once a mission church. We also want to assist our children and youth with scholarship assistance for church and camping events in the future." Glover also stated that children, youth, adults and families are invited to come to the carnival. Kingsbury Community Church serves the American Baptist Church, Disciples of Christ, Presbyterian Church, United Methodist Church and the United Church of Christ.
