Tussleirs gamer wins att tourney Seventy-three wrestlers from Vernal Ver-nal competed in the Wasatch Freestyle Tournament in Heber City, Saturday. Vernal came away with 39 medals. The Vernal team won 13 first place titles, 18 second places and eight third places. Vernal wrestlers will attend the region meet, Saturday at Carbon High School. Wrestlers must place first, second or third in order to go to the state meet, which will be held in Clearfield. Vernal will take a bus to the meet at Carbon High School. Any interested wrestlers should contact Levi Smuin at 789-2302 or Ed Johnson at 789-9371. The Vernal Tiger League Wrestling Wrestl-ing Program is trying to locate and gather up all Vernal Wrestling war-mup war-mup suits that have been handed out over the past five years. The suits need to be turned in by Saturday for region. Person with warmups are urged to contact Smuin or Johnson. Cole Frey captured first place in the 40 pound bantam class and Ron Bowden placed second. Mitchell Ryan placed second at 45 pounds. Joey Carroll, 50, bantam, placed first and Issac Smuin, 60, nabbea tmra. Jed Elton, 55, snared third. D.J. Smuin, 70, placed first in the bantam class. Levi Smuin, 60, midget, A bracket and Blake Sutton, 60, B bracket, pocketed first places. Cole Massey, 55 , placed third and Jimmy Wilkins, 60, netted second. Shane Roberts, 70, A bracket, nabbed second and Donovan Brown placed third. Rhett Deets, 70, B bracket and Ryan Deets, 80, nabbed second places. Andy Sunkees, 90, captured first place and Brady Searle, 90, placed second. Brock Pope, 75, nabbed second place. Jody Jackson, 95, B bracket, garnered first place in the intermediate in-termediate class and Brett Searle, 100, placed second. Rhett Elton, 65, Lehi meet, placed third and Rob Young, 65, finished in third place. Bobby Jenkins, 70, A bracket, netted second and Kelly Carter, 75, netted second. Jason Abplanalp, 75, placed third and Brandon Bowden, 70, nabbed nabb-ed second in the B bracket. Jeff Snow, 90, placed second. Tracey Bascom, 60, also placed second. Casey Beynon, 100, garnered first place in the school boy division. Quinn Dickson, 80; Brian Van Tassell, 90 and John Sadlier, 110, also placed first. Greg Roberts, 95, captured cap-tured third place. Travis Johnson, 105 and Brian Snow, 110, pocketed second se-cond places. Chance Rollins, 105, and Mike Whitlock, 112, garnered first place in the cadet division. Mike McCurdy, 121 and Steve Bascom, 105, finished in second place.
