Advertising deadlines, printing of collateral materials and meetings with journalists from all over the world are taking place as we speak. In fact, a group of Park City hospitality industry people just got back home from attending a series of ski shows in Australia (it's just the beginning of their ski season). Having experienced such a long winter and a cool spring this year makes it hard to think about next winter, but we know it will be here before too long. It's time once again for the Chamber's Annual Meeting, and I would like to say thanks to several members of the Chamber's Board of Directors whose terms expire this month. I would like to extend my gratitude to Eric Nelson, Debbie Batt, Richard Bizzaro, Rich Fine, Bobby Foster, Shirin Spangenberg, Dave Stevenson, Andrew Volkman, and Jan Wilking for serving the last three years as members of our board. Their dedication and oversight to the organization over the past several years is truly appreciated. Oh, one last thing - I'm very happy that this year our 4th of July parade, so aptly managed by the Park City Ambassadors, named our retiring Chief of Police, Llyod Evans, as the parade Grand Marshall. Please join me in recognizing Chief Evans for his long time service to our Community. Have a great summer. John Rogers Chairman, Park City Chamber/Bureau INTERNATJONAL SALES ft MARKETING i The International Department has been taking the Park City message worldwide since the close of the winter season, preparing tour operators and ski specialists for the 08/09 winter. A record number of attendees participated in this year's Pow Wow International, ' a gathering of world-wide destinations and tour operators in Las Vegas, enabling Park City representatives to seek out new opportunities for group travel. An Australian-bound tour in May included meetings at the Travel Plan Ski Shows, the Snow Travel Shows and the Mogul Ski Show, and media events with Australian journalists were held in Sydney and Melbourne. Additional travel this summer includes outreach trips to Miami, Brazil, Mexico, London and Germany. Membership with the Chamber/Bureau What Can it Do for You?
