Jay Hamburger Park City's construction industry had a strong month in August, recording roughly 20 percent of the year's building figures, the Park City Building Department reports. According to the Building Department, 131 permits were issued in August. They were valued at a little more than $14.1 million. The figure beat the numbers recorded in July, when about $11.6 million was tallied, and in August 2003, when about $6.5 million was recorded. The Building Department issued permits for 20 single-family homes with a combined value of a little less than $8.5 million. One multi-family project, totaling 24 units and worth about $2.2 million, was also permitted in August. Meanwhile, a little less than $2.5 million worth of alterations and additions were recorded in August.
