Show H f m W P ? 7 r . f I v V f 7 Olympic hopefuls receive funding SALT LAKE CITY Blue CrossBlue Shield of Utah has set up a matching -funds plan which could net Olympic hopefuls Holly Cook and Denise Parker up to $30,000 to help with travel and training expenses. The company will match dollar for dollar any other contributions made to the pair up to a limit of $15,000 dollar per athlete from now until August 19 of next year. To increase public participation, the company is offering Olympic T-shirts T-shirts and stadium blankets. Checks should be made out to Athletes Unlimited, which is a state organization aiding amateur athletics. Cook will need about $40,000 for training expenses to get ready for the '92 Winter Olympics in Albert-ville, Albert-ville, France. Hie Bountiful native finished third in both national and international ice skating championships champion-ships in 1990, but finished a disappointing disap-pointing sixth at the U.S. figure skating championships in February, something she attributed to the difficulty in getting ice time in Utah. She is now training in Colorado Springs. Denise Parker, a junior at Bingham High School, is ranked second in the world in outdoor out-door archery and is the reigning U.S. women's champion. Parker has her sights on a gold medal in the 92 Summer Olympics at Barcelona, Spain. Parker needs between be-tween $20,000 and $25,000 for trai-ing trai-ing expenses.
