Show Pipeline decision wrong Dear Editor: In total disregard of local opposition, oppo-sition, state opposition and Utah Congressional opposition, and in violation of the Mueller Park deed, the Wasatch Cache Forest supervisor super-visor has issued a decision allowing both Kem River and WyCal to build their pipelines. This is a complete turn-around from earlier positions. Why? This is a blatant breach of public trust! The Forest Service is responsible for not only their decisions affecting affec-ting public land, but also how those decisions affect surrounding communities. com-munities. Their responsibility does not end at forest boundaries. Clearly Clear-ly this responsibility has been ignored. ig-nored. Big money and greed are making the decisions, rather than environmental policy and common sense. Where are our congressmen, our senators, our governor who claim to support local communities and the State Legislature in opposition to the Wasatch variation? Why are they not actively protecting the interests in-terests of those they are supposed to represent? Is the real issue political blackmail and insincerity of elected officials representing Utah? This issue affects everyone in Utah as well as the entire United States. Is this a government of the people, or a government of him who has the most money? Watch "The West on channel 2 Oct. 20, at 6:30 p.m. This national news team has done a report on this issue because of not only local, but national implications. The BHRCCA is committed to continuing the fight against the Wasatch Wa-satch variation until all legal and political avenues to stop it have been taken. Renee Coon |
