Show FJH will celebrate Red Ribbon Week On Friday, all weeklong contests will be concluded, and there will be a drawing for a grand prize. Students will gather during seventh period and students will link hands and pledge to be drug and alcohol-free. alcohol-free. A race, featuring a boy and girl from each homeroom, will compete for prizes. Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated at Farmington Junior High School during the week of Oct. 22 through Oct. 26, according to Kent Price, TEAM Club advisor. Following the theme, "Join the Chain to Stop the Pain the week of activities will highlight ways and means of reducing the use and abuse of illegal drugs and alcohol. The weeklong list of activities will begin on Monday, Oct 22, with a homeroom decorating contest, featuring the use of red ribbons, which will be distributed to each homeroom class. Gold chains will also be sold for 50 cents per link. The "spirit stick"contest will begin Monday and continue each day throughout the week. A stick will be hidden and clues given as to its hiding place. The First student to find the hidden stick each day will be given a prize. Students will be asked to originate an anti-drug and anti-alcohol anti-alcohol rap and a contest for the best rap will be held after school on Tuesday. On Wednesday, there will be a poster contest and winners will receive prizes. Also, students still wearing their red ribbons will be given treats. There will be two assemblies on Thursday featuring "Magi," a special anti-drug performing group-Students group-Students will also wear red clothing on this day, and the homeroom with the "brightest red" will be rewarded. |
