Show Richard J. Gerber BOUNTIFUL-Richard J. Gerber, 80, passed away Oct. 17, in Bountiful Hospital after fighting a courageous battle with health problems. He was born Aug. 22, 1910 in Granger, son of John and Frances Gerber. Married Holline Olive Higbee in 1939 in Salt Lake City. She died in 1956. He married Ila Tucker B rower in Dick will be remembered for his strong work ethic and his dedication to his job. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed en-joyed rodeo, cutter horse racing, and particularly watching his grandchildren grand-children compete in rodeo and sports events. Survived by his wife of 30 years, Bountiful; sons, Gary, West Virginia; and Jan, Salem, Ore.; daughter Karren Buzzard, Salt Lake City; sisters Mary Gerber, Portland, Ore. and Lilly Bleak, Salt Lake City; as well as his wife Ila's four children, Larry Brower, Holladay; Bob Brower, Riverton; Mrs. Evan (Carol) Naef, Bountiful; and Mrs. Graham (Tawny) Babb, Holladay; 18 grandchildren grand-children and 20 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Monday, Oct. 22, at 1 p.m. in the South Morgan City Cemetery, Morgan. Friends may call Sunday evening Oct. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful. I960 in Elko, Nev. Dick retired ih 1989 at the age of 79 after a lifetime of work, including 50 years of employment with Evans Supply and Intermountain Theater. He installed draperies and was a stage rigger in countless school auditoriums, theaters and churches . throughout the Western states, including in-cluding the Promised Valley Playhouse and Salt Palace Arena in Salt Lake.
