Show r You Said It a Cantaloupe queen will not be seen The Bountiful Jaycees would like O- to thank the members of the community com-munity for their interest and willingness will-ingness to help with the Miss Centennial Cantaloupe Day Pageant, Pag-eant, but due to the lack of interest and participation on the part of the 17- to 20-year-old girls in the South Davis community, this program has been cancelled. ! Although the Miss Centennial Cantaloupe Day Pageant has been cancelled, the Cantaloupe Day Celebration, Sept 12 at the Boun-j Boun-j C tiful City Park is going full steam i o t ahead. We are excited about recreating this celebration, and its daylong celebration is planned to be the biggest and best ever! Looking forward to seeing everyone there! Shauna Knighton Chairman Cantaloupe Day Celebration Utah should give women equal rights Editor I would like to commend Jennifer Peterson for her article concerning Mr. Don Bradshaw, or is that "Lord" Bradshaw and the ill-fated apartment rental. It would be nice to take such a "well-meaning" gentleman to court for sex discrimination. But, then after all the stress and strain with dealing with the judicial system, you would need such a retreat as a wooded, secluded apartment. One that unfortunately will not be yours. So, hang in there Jennifer, we are approaching a new century, Utah is bound to discover or realize that women do have equal rights! Sheila Montanaro Bountiful |
