Show Falcons clip Vikes, 3-2 By BRET GALLACHER Sports Writer CLEARFIELD With the Vikes needing another victory to virtually lock up a post season position, it looked as if Clearfield Clear-field would be the ideal victim. Unfortunately for Viewmont, the last place Falcons played the spoiler by winning their second game of the year 3-2. It appeared as if everything would go according to plan for the Vikings as Mike Brant stole home in the opening inning to go up 1-0. In the third Rob Eyre sacrificed sacrific-ed home Brendan Green to push the lead to 2-0. Unfortunately the Vikes were done crossing the plate and the Falcons were just getting warmed warm-ed up. The bottom of the third found Clearfield getting four consecutive con-secutive hits to knot the score 2-2. The remainder of the game was a pitching duel as the Falcons had to rely on an error in the fifth to score the decisive rjV and push their record to 2-8. The loss drops Viewmont below .500 at 5-6 on the season. v I r : VIKINGS CLIPPED: In the midst of the state tournament race, Viewmont dropped a 3-2 decision to last place Clearfield Friday. Fri-day.
