' ; ' "This book is going to be a real dandy, something every family , and former resident of West Bountiful should have in their homes," LaRue Hugoe, former city recorder and co-author of the book, told the West Bountiful City Council last Tuesday night ' She said the book has been "in the mill' ' for more than three years and will be off the press a few days before Christmas. The book will contain more than 550 pages and 300 historical pictures. I "There should be a lot of interest among residents and former I residents of the city," she said. "Part of the book will be a compila-' compila-' tion of ckycouncil actions each meeting for the past 40 years. . It will recap the city's growth and activities during the period since West Bountiful became a city. There will also be a written history and pictures of the previous 100 years since the pioneers settled the community in 1847. Hugoe told the council that she does not have an exact cost of the book, out it will depend on die number published and the total cost of publication. She said the cost will probably be $15 to $18 per copy. She said some 4,200 names have been included in the book and are indexed for reference. Hugoe noted that the total number of copies printed probably should be increased from 1,000 to at least 1,500 or possibly 2,000 copies. "It costs a lot more to reorder later than to have a sufficient number printed originally,' ' she said. The council agreed. |
