V A - " ' "i"Krmmr' i.J Members of the Utah Figure Skating Club were recently hosted by Robintino's Restaurant in Bountiful prior to leaving leav-ing for the Central Pacific Regional Championships this week. Local figure skaters competing this week BOUNTIFUL-Several members of the Utah Figure Skating Club are in northern California this week, competing in the Central Pacific Fegtonal Championships. They will be held November 29 through December 2 in Belmont, California. Prior to leaving, the skaters were guests of honor at a sendoff dinner at Robintino's Restaurant in Bountiful. Boun-tiful. The Regionals are the first of two competitions which qualify skaters for the U.S. Nationals to be held February 4-1 1 at the Salt Palace. On hand to wish the skaters good luck at the dinner were Utah Figure Skating Club president Karen Daly and World and Olympic Figure Skating judge fda Tatcoka. Also lending moral support was Paws, the Polar Bear, the mascot of the U.S. National Championships. Holly Cook of Bountiful is not required to participate- in the regional competition, as she will go directly to the Pacific Coast Sectional Sec-tional Championships in San Diego in January. |
