Show Alternative schedule" procedures used By DONETA GATHERUM t FARMTNGTON - After studying study-ing the problems and successes experienced ex-perienced in the methods used to move four schools from extended day status or conventional" school status to a year-round mode, Dr. Stephen Ronnenkamp and other district administrators have developed de-veloped a lengthy manual of procedures pro-cedures an elementary school must follow in order to be considered for an alternative school schedule. The departure from a traditional school plan can be either an extended day model or year-round school, depending depen-ding on the school facility and the extent of the crowding problem within the school boundaries. Schools that will probably be making recommendations for alternative alter-native scheduling to die board of education this year include Boulton, East Layton, Layton, Lincoln and West Bountiful. These schools are already using an extended day schedule. Other high growth schools that could possibly opt for extended day or year-round schedules are Antelope, Crestview, Orchard, Vae View and Whitesides. Woods Cross was given permission permis-sion to move to a year-round schedule for the 1990-91 school year at the last board of education meeting. |
