Since the rodeo facilities were removed from Lagoon several ' years ago, resident horse owners have needed to use make-shift - tracks, or travel outside the county to practice, compete and race their horses. The new race track and arena will make it possible for rodeos, races and competitions to be held in Davis County again. Chariot races are now being held at the race track every Saturday at 1 p.m. They will continue until the first four-place winners are determined. de-termined. Chariot-race winners from California, Califor-nia, Idaho, Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming will also compete in Elko. At these competitions, often four chariot-racing teams run at tlie same lime. During the summer, 4-H clubs and adult riding clubs including the Twin Star Riders and the Davis County Sheriffs Possee will be practicing drills, group events, and lots of similar routines and interesting interest-ing competitions. The horse-racing, chariot-racing and rodeo facilities have been build' with contributions from area merchants, mer-chants, funds raised by the Davis County Horse Owners Association, and volunteer labor from 4-H clubs, the American Chariot Racing Association, Asso-ciation, and many members of the riding-clubs in the area. The race track and rodeo arena will be a great benefit to the community, com-munity, it will provide much needed facilities to more than 600 youths, 300 adults and 1000 horses in Davis County.
