Show WX Cat Chat By ROB KIME It is a testament to the greatness of WX High School that when we go to spotlight "just a few," of those people who brighten everyone's every-one's day with their caring, positive posi-tive attitude, and big toothy grin, we realize that we actually have "Miles of Smiles." It really goes to show how different the atmosphere at WX is from the typical deadbeat boredom that permeates the air at most schools. "Miles of Smiles" is the most recent episode in our continuing series of pride power programs. Two ladies spearhead the gargan tuan task of exhibiting for the students, stu-dents, and the public all the good at WX in only one year! This task, as you can imagine is extremely time consuming. It requires a great deal of creativity and awareness. Lynda Fuller and MarryAnn Watson and a great many supporters suppor-ters have given of their money, time and most of all themselves. We extend to you wonderful ladies our thanks and our gratitude. It is people like you who make WX "A Step Ahead," and make it so much more fun to let everyone know. The best basketball team in the world, next to the Jazz, came up a little bit "short" against Clearfield. They felt their lack of height, and Clearfield's over-abundance. They also felt their potential to be the best, and the promising leadership of new head coach Kevin Wilson. Last year as a JV team they lost only one game. They have lost their game for this year so have pity on the poor fools who are unfortunate unfortun-ate enough to come up against the new improved version in their best season ever! In the early stages of this year's presidential election, a major issue was the requisition of the Lord's Prayer in public schools, and other government facilities. The logic of those in favor was hard to follow at best. Harder still was accepting the fact that the very God founded principles that make America the greatest nation on earth, are what make it possible for those who are blind, to turn around and abolish that which made us great. The Christmas season adds an interesting dimension to legal ques-tions ques-tions surrounding the Lord's Prayer. How long will minds liberal enough to contest praying to God tolerate the celebration of His birthday? How long before it will be a problem for a second grade student stu-dent to make his family a Christmas Christ-mas card on paper that was paid for by an atheistic taxpayer? Have a Merry Christmas! |
