PARC wins contract National Industries for the Severely Severe-ly Handicapped (NISH), based in Vienna, Va. NISH is the nonprofit organization established by the President's Committee for Purchase Purch-ase from the Blind and Other Severely Se-verely Handicapped to help sheltered shel-tered Work Centers obtain contracts con-tracts with the Federal government under the JWOD Program. The program employs over 1 1 ,000 individuals indi-viduals with severe disabilities nationally. na-tionally. The Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center (PARC), of the Davis County Coun-ty School District in Clearfield, has been awarded a contract to provide janitorial-custodial services for Building 1400, at Hill Air Force Base. This contract will provide continuing employment for two individuals in-dividuals with severe disabilities under the Javits-Wagner-O'Day (JWOD) Act (Public Law 92-28). PARC provides special training and meaningful employment to persons per-sons with severe disabilities in a supported environment. With the skills learned in training and on the job, many of these individuals eventually move on to competitive employment. PARC is currently providing janitorial services for Building 1299 on base and is expecting to expand into new buildings now under construction. con-struction. In addition PARC places approximately 50 disabled people per year in employment in the community com-munity and serves another 250 plus in our sheltered employment, evaluation eva-luation and skill training programs.
