Show Stella Mae Strong : ' lllilliilllPi;: LAYTON Stella Mae Wallace Strong, 94, of 325 Knowlton, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 1988 at a Clearfield Clear-field nursing home of causes incident inci-dent to age. She was born Jan. 15, 1894 in Frankfort, Ky., a daughter of Edgar Dudley and Emma June Dickerson Wallace. She married Holmes Ray Johnson John-son April 11, 1914, in Salt Lake City. They were later divorced. She married Don C. Strong in 1936, in Salt Lake City. He died in 1945. At the age of six she and her family moved to Utah traveling by train from Kentucky. This was a great hardship on the family to leave everything they owned behind. be-hind. She was very active in the LDS Church. She had served as organist in the Primary and Relief Society. She also served as a visiting teacher for many years. She was an accomplished pianist and had played the piano in the theatres for silent movies. Surviving are her three daughters, daugh-ters, Rachel House and Mrs. Shirley Shir-ley (Betty) Hart, both of Layton; Linda Shrope Smith, Ogden; 14 grandchildren; 33 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Nelchene Jensen, Ogden; and 'len Hemmingway, Salt Lake She was preceded in death by one son, two daughters, one brother and one sister. Dedication of the grave vas by Shirley Hart with interment in the West Jordan City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold House, Michael House, Dennis Shrope, Roger Hart, Jeffrey Hart and Martin Mar-tin Hart. |
