Show TT '1 , - v m - :i I . - J P IB v - .v- - ' " i "East Seaport" is one of 15 paintings by artist MarJean Stubbs currently being displayed at Farmington City Hall. The work was created after Mrs. Stubbs visited the East coast. She uses colored slides to help her recreate the beauty beau-ty she finds as she travels. The collection will be displayed until July 29. It will then be moved to Lakeview Hospital and displayed until October. i Artist's works displayed By KATHLEEN WILSON i ir -r r'Vw clj -.-. "I eiypy messing around in all this godpey- paint," laughed Mar Jean Stubbs, a Bountiful artist who is displaying her paintings at the Farmington City Building. The exhibit will be there until July 29, when it will be moved to Lakeview Hospital, where it will stay until Oct. 1. The exhibit is mostly oils, with some watercolor paintings. Her favorite subjects are Utah landscapes. land-scapes. She finds subjects by observing her surroundings until something hits her. Sometimes she 'akes; sjidgs- on .Vacations to paint " from. An old Porterville barn in Morgan Mor-gan is a favorite of Mar Jean's. She does some florals, some ships and boats also. Mar Jean has been painting for 12 years, and has studied with many prominent Utah artists. Other exhibits she has participated in include: Springville Museum of Arts Salon, Bountiful Davis Art Center, Utah Museum of Fine Arts and the ZCMI Mall, where she won first and third place in the Utah Mother's Show. |
