Show Celebrates 90th i v , f 1 I y" V I ' ( s i' ,f - 1 ' i Edith Nelson Steed, 164 Linden St., Clearfield, celebrated her 90th birthday on Friday, July 15. A dinner din-ner in her honor was held at the Hill Air Force Base Officers' Club, after af-ter which the family gathered at the home of Harold Steed in Clearfield to further honor her. She was born July 22, 1898 in Bountiful, to Jens K. Nelson and Sarah Jane Duerden. She attended the University of Utah and taught school until her marriage to Clearfield Clear-field banker Walter W. Steed, Jr., Sept. 14, 1938 in Salt Lake City. Her husband died in 1969. In 1937, she helped organize the Clearfield Literary Guild and is still an active member. She was a charter char-ter member of the Wild Rose Camp of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was the first Primary president of the Clearfield Utah Stake. She has served in LDS Church organizations organi-zations as either secretary, teacher, or officer. She has traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe, aria islandsln the Carib-" bean. She takes pride in working in her yard and enjoys reading, tatting, tat-ting, sports on TV and is well informed in-formed regarding politics and current cur-rent events. She has three stepsons: Dr. W. David Steed, Indian Head Park, Illinois; Dale R. Steed, Logan; Harold C. Steed, Clearfield, 10 grandchildren and 25 greatgrandchildren. EDITH NELSON STEED |
