Show 0 D. Bartholomew Davis Bartholomew, 82, died Sunday, April 17, 1988 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. He was born June 16, 1905 in Neeley, Ida., a son of Henry and Clara Minerva Tuttle Bartholomew. Barth-olomew. He married Ruth McKean Argyle on Sept. 15, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 1940. He married Fern Randall on March 2, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was raised in Bountiful where he attended elementary school and junior high school and graduated from Davis High School. He also graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelors bache-lors of science in electrical engineering en-gineering in 1928. He graduated from the University Universi-ty of Minnesota with a master's degree de-gree in electrical engineering in 1940. He later received his professional profes-sional electrical engineering degree from the University of Utah. His teaching career included Bountiful Junior High, Davis High, Jordan School District, University of Utah, Utah State University and the University of Minnesota. He was a professor of electrical engineering en-gineering at the University of Ari-f Ari-f zona for eight years and at BYU for ! nine years. During the war years he worked work-ed as an electrical design engineer for several projects including the Small Arms Plant in Salt Lake City, Tooele Ordinance Depot, St. John Chemical Warfare Depot, Clearfield Navy Supply Depot and Geneva Steel Plant. His work in industry included Davis County surveyor, Boeing Company, Seattle, Wash; Arnold Engineering Development Center, Tullahoma, Term.; Lawrence Radiation Laboratory, Hercules and consulting work with companies com-panies throughout the United States. He worked for the TRW Systems Sys-tems in Texas with the space program prog-ram on the Apollo projects, which included putting a man on the moon. He retired in 1970 and returned re-turned to Provo. He was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission to Hawaii. He worked in the Sunday School, including counselor in the stake Sunday School superinten-dency superinten-dency in Bountiful, a counselor in the bishopric of the Bountiful 5th Ward and counselor in the Central Tennessee district presidency. Served as a high councilman in the Southern Arizona Stake and in the Houston and Houston East, Texas Stakes. He has served as a temple worker in the Provo Temple since its dedication. He is survived by his wife of Provo; Pro-vo; five sons, five daughters, Richard D. Bartholomew, Hunt-sville, Hunt-sville, Ala.; Mrs. H.W. (Marie) Stepp, Chehalis, Wash.; Bert R. Bartholomew, Frederick, Md.; Mrs. F. James (LaRue) Cowan, Farmington; Mrs. Walter H. (JoAnn) Weidner, Kearns; Mrs. Dale (Joyce) Fink, Chehalis, Wash.; Mrs. Jacob E. (Beth) Bos, Camarillo, Calif.; James H. Bartholomew, Barth-olomew, Simi Valley, Calif.; C. Randy Bartholomew, Salt Lake City; Blaine Bartholomew, San Diego, Calif.; 44 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Argyle Bartholomew. Funeral services were held April 22 at the Oakhills 2nd Ward LDS Chapel in Provo. Interment was in the Bountiful Memorial Park. |
