Show Aztecs topic of speech "True joy is in the after life, and warfare is the way to eternal bliss," were some fundamental assumptions assump-tions held by the once flourishing Aztec society and will be included in the theme of a speech to be given by Dr. Charles E. Dibble, Oct. 31, in Orson Spencer Hall at 8 p.m. Dr. Dibble, faculty member of the Department of Anthropology, is speaking at The Ninth Annual Rufus Wood Leigh Lecture, and will be discussing the Aztec Indian view of the world. Dr. Dibble gained international acclaim with his translation of the Florentine Codex, a twelve volume work stretching from 1950-1969. Besides publishing books and writing for professional journals. Dr. Dibble's other achievements include Fellowship in the American Anthropological An-thropological Association, the Historical Society of New Mexico, the Sociedad Internacional de Nathuatlatos, and is a member of the Sociedad Mexicana de An-tropologia. An-tropologia. Dr. Dibble has also been the recipient of a Roosevelt Fellowship, as well as research grants from the Rockefeller Foundation. |
