Show P 72 effects change The most direct way of influencing the political process -especially if one is not a corporate president is to become involved in the political process. As University students, we are strongly affected by dozens of bills and actions on the local, state, and national level, not to mention our positions as ordinary members of a larger metropolitan community. So much is truism. From the closure of Penrose Drive to the reduction of draft calls, from federally-guaranteed student loans to condominiums at Alta, the government affects us. Government can be affected in returnif re-turnif we lean on them starting with candidates. Participation 72 has an office in the north wing of the Union. They can place you in a political campaign, helping and perhaps educating the candidate of your choice (or the lesser of two evils). If you want to get in touch with government, get in touch with Participation72. Call them at 581-8656, or drop in their office. The alternative is four more years, of whomever you dislike. |
