Show Student project published Not many students would attempt to complete a 350-page research volume in just nine weeks, and still fewer would spend $900 of their own cash to publish their work. But for Thomas May, a University senior majoring in geophysics, an individual indivi-dual study project fulfilled as part of routine departmental requirements require-ments led to just that. The project was the product of Mr. May's interest in space exploration. explora-tion. "I've always been fascinated by space research, and the more I delved into instrumentation techniques, techni-ques, the more I wanted to put all the different aspects of it down on paper," he explains. The student says the project "reinforced my idea that individual undergraduate research is an important part of education." |
