Show Penrose to be postponed Commissioner E.J. Cam will propose Thursday that the closing of Penrose Drive be delayed until June 1, 1972 and he is "certain the motion will pass." He met Wednesday with the lesidents involved and said that he has their cooperation. Mayor J. Bracken Lee and the other commissioners have also indicated to Mr. Cam that they will approve his proposal. "This will allow time for a complete study ot traftic in the area," Mr. Garn said. He is also proposing that the speed limit be reduced during the interim to lessen the problems faced by the residents of the street. Another benefit of the proposal is that any construction required to solve the traffic problem can be done after school recesses in the spring, Mr. Carn said. His proposal will be made at the city commission hearing Thursday, 10 a.m. in the City and County Bldg. |
