The officials, however, gave the ball to Utah saying it had been blown dead before the fumble. The next play was a victory for virtue and honesty hon-esty however, as Redskin Quarterback Quarter-back "Scooter" Longmire threw his only intercepted pass of the game, right into the hands of Ram lineman Greg Battle who took it to the Utah 19 yard line. The virtuous victory was to no avail for CSU as they failed to score when quarterback Scott Simmons was intercepted by Ute lineman Ron Rydalch who went 44 yards to the CSU 38.
