The inability of the Redskins tc . get the hits when they needed them, however, was one of the Key factors in several of the Utah i losses Summerhays said that he was concerned about the Redskin pitching. "Our relievers, in particular, par-ticular, will have to provide us with better help before we can improve out situation," he said "Our starters-Steve Jones, Paul Boykin, Randy Siebert and Fred Mensel-had some problems, but not any more than we expected from them considering we'd had no playing time before we got to California." Summerhays went on to say that if the relievers come around and the team keeps up its hitting and moving the men around the bases, that the Utes would be all right. Utah was certainly all right Saturday as it put both hitting and pitching together to pick up two needed victories. Steve Jones turned in a sterling preformance in the opener giving up only six hits and scattering three runs to go all the way and help the Utes to the 4-3 win. ! - ' ' - C ' j pi : ' ..y - ! : r Hey ump, watch the play!
