Show Union to turn lights low for Commons lunch A special policy concerning the Crimson Commons will go into effect at the beginning of winter quarter, according to Geoff Leigh, chairman of the Union Food Service Committee. The lights will be dimmed and the music played in an attempt to move those people not in the Commons for the specific purpose of eating to other areas designed for general study and uinmons win De dimmed from 10:45 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Music will also be played during these hours. The reason for this change, according to the committee, is to facilitate the maximum number of lounging. This policy represents Phase One of a new re-emphasis program for the Commons. Later phases will introduce such activities as poetry readings, jazz concerts, stomps and dancing. |
