Show Band concert set for Sunday A combined Symphonic and Stage Band concert will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Kingsbury Hall. A tuba concerto written by Ralph Vaughn Williams will be one of the highlights of the symphonic sym-phonic band. It will be played by Charles Eckenrode, who was recently re-cently appointed principal tuba player of the Utah symphony. Other works by Dello Joio and Sol Berkowitz will also be presented. pre-sented. The stage band will present two original compositions. They are "Life is 74 Theme" by Alan Russell and "Introduction and Frolic" by Neil Weight. "Life is 74 Theme" won the compositions honors in the Rocky Mountain Jazz Festival. The public is invited and no admission ad-mission will be charged. |
