Show UAA FLASHES by Jim Abplanalp BDAA Hosts Layton Sunday The BDAA baseball nine, current cur-rent leaders of the Northwest Semi-pro league, will try to continue con-tinue their three game win streak this Sunday, against Lay-ton Lay-ton at Copperton. The locals have won all three starts so far in second half play, downing Midvale 4 to 3, Magna 2 to 0 and Morgan 20 to 11. Lefty Cowdell figured prominently in all three as he gained both wins against Midvale and Magna and I was used as relief in the Morgan tussle. Manager Herb Babcock has the boys fired up and rarin' to go the entire second half, and the local nine is determined to battle for the league playoff. Bingham's game against Lay-ton Lay-ton will start at 5:00 p.m. at the Copperton stadium. Babcock will probably start Furlong or Crump on the mound against the northern crew. Next Wednesday, July 29th, Bingham will play host to Des-eret Des-eret Chemical, the league's new entry. This game will be an afternoon af-ternoon affair, starting at 5:30. The following Sunday the locals will journey to Magna for another an-other tussle with the millmen. Better Attendance The fans have been coming out a great deal better lately for our local baseball games, and we hope you continue to support sup-port our young hustling players. The local nine has three boys on the roster that will perform in the Annual High School All-Star All-Star game at Ogdeh on August 29th. Gary LaComb, Jensen and Raynor have all been selected for this hunor. These three boys, along with the rest of the local players have been playing good baseball, and we hope you continue con-tinue coming out and watching them. Bring your friends. O |
