Show I -'' " - ' ' Peggy Nielson Ute-tahnas add six members Six new Ute-tahnas and their six alternates were chosen following trial routines in the Fieldhouse, Sept. 27. The Ute-tahnas are a six-year-old service organization whose primary duties are half-time entertainment at the football and basketball games. They stimulate and encourage school spirit by participating in a marching and cheering section. The tryouts started last Tuesday night where the 36 entrants were taught a routine. Wednesday a workshop was held where the girls were given professional help and that night 15 finalists were chosen. Another workshop was held Thursday with the final judging on Friday. The girls were judged on a march, routine, beauty and poise. Mrs. Genevieve Coleman, Ute-tahnas sponsor, said all 36 applicants had a lot of talent and the judges had a most difficult time deciding. There are 16 Ute-tahnas altogether including the six who were chosen Sept. 27. They are Kathy Dahn, Marilyn McCloi, Peggy Nielson, Mary Alona Peterson, Lyndsie Bloom and Karen Hauge. The six alternates are Jeri Bubesch, Mary Lou Frewin, Shelley Bliss, Mary Ann Madsen, Christine Lake and Lisa Frost. ! . |
