Show Group Gives Award for Spanish Study Sigma Delta Pi, a Spanish honorary, bestowed honorary membership in the society to Dr. Paul E. Wyler for his contributions con-tributions to Hispanic study and for his professional merit. The society also initiated 10 members in ceremonies Friday. They are Sandra J. Canepari, Raymond Lopez Corro, Judith Ann Crandall, D. Keith Miller, Eugene Mitchell, Judy Richardson, Richard-son, Judy Arce-Larreta, Manuel Bejar, Vonna Breeze and Dr. George Gross. Officiating were club president presi-dent Kenneth W. Massey and secretary Carol Jo Rimensber-ger. Rimensber-ger. Requirements for membership include at least three years of college Spanish or its equivalent and a minimum g.p.a. of 3.0. Students must rank in the top 35 per cent of their class. Graduate Gradu-ate students who have completed com-pleted at least 25 quarter hours of Spanish with a 3.0 minimum g.p.a. are also eligible for membership. mem-bership. Sigma Delta Pi strives to increase in-crease students' interest and understanding un-derstanding of Hispanic cultures , and to foster friendly relations between Spanish and English speaking nations, according to a society spokesman. |
