Show Ute Harriers Wrangle Y Utah's cross-country men pulled off a minor upset in beating beat-ing BYU's strong team by a 26-29 score Wednesday afternoon on the University golf course. Led by the second place effort ef-fort of Sal Mendoza and the third place finish of Allan See-ley, See-ley, the Ute runners didn't need the speed of sensational freshman Scott Bringhurst, who missed the race because of a bad foot blister and heel bruise. Bob Richards of BYU won the race over four mile race in 21: 26.4 Mendoza, a California boy, ran the race in 21:26. Mike Roberst finished fifth and Ron Zeffner sixth to give the Utes domination of the first ten. The high finish gave the Utese the victory. Utah will run against Idaho State Saturday at 11 a.m. |
