Show Correction THE CHRONICLE and its managing manag-ing editor plead guilty to a charge of misstatement. In the bylined article on the Local 537 picketing of Warshaw's Giant Markets, an allegation that "it would be necessary neces-sary for many of them (Warshaw's employees) to take a cut in pay if they went to union scale" was attributed at-tributed to the assistant manager of Warshaw's. This is incorrect. Warshaw's employees are paid union scale right on the nose. This misstatement arose from a comment made by one of the pickets pick-ets that Warshaw's bakery employees em-ployees were paid more than at Albertson's, which is false. They are paid the same. The Chronicle sincerely regrets this error and extends ex-tends its apologies to all concerned. |
