Forty Utahns' names were added to the prestigious index of famous persons. Regents Honored Fletcher Makes Who's Who President James Chipman Fletcher, Fletch-er, six University faculty members and two University Regents are among 40 Utahns whose names have been added to listing of the 1966-67 edition of Who's Who in America. THE REGENTS listed in the new edition are W. W. Clyde of Spring-ville Spring-ville and Roy W. Simmons, of Kays-ville. Kays-ville. The new faculty members listed are: Professors Grant K. Borg, William P. Hewitt, Irwin H. Kaiser, John D. Spikes, Sidney F. Velich and Milton E. Wadsworth. Who's Who includes persons who have accomplished some conspicuous conspic-uous achievement or position which distinguishes them from the vast majority of their contemporaries; this includes not only citizens of the United States, but also the contiguous Pan American areas, as well as those overseas subject to American reference interest. IT ALSO includes the names, not necessarily of the best, but rather of the best known, men and women in all lines of useful and reputable achievement names much in the public eye, not locally but generally. gen-erally. The standards of admission divide the eligible into two groups: 1) those selected on account of special prominence in creditable lines of effort, making them the subjects of extensive interest, inquiry in-quiry or discussion; and 2) those included on account of position civil, military, religious, educational, educa-tional, corporate, or organizational. |
