Show Selective Service Qualification Application Forms Available Every young man registered with the Selective Service System Sys-tem who has not served in the military and is interested in continuing con-tinuing his college education should take the Selective Service College Qualification Test. THIS information was given today by Col. Evan P. Clay, State Director for Selective Service Ser-vice in Utah. Application forms are available avail-able at all local board offices. 'The deadline for filing these applications is April 23." "THE THREE-HOUR qualification qualifica-tion test will be given on three dates: May 14 and 21 and June 3. In Utah, examination sites are Utah State University, Utah University, Uni-versity, Brigham Young University, Univer-sity, Weber State College, College Col-lege of , Southern Utah, Snow College, College of Eastern Utah, and Dixie Junior College." Purpose of the tests, Colonel Clay pointed out, is to provide additional evidence for the use of local boards in considering deferments de-ferments from military service for students. "THIS evidence is more often needed than not," Colonel Clay said. "The test is open to every selective service registrant who desires to attend college next fall. Many students have received re-ceived deferments for the past several years without difficulty. Times have placed greater pressure pres-sure on our manpower pool and many of those students who have received deferments in the past will be called into service." "Local boards may be confronted con-fronted with the task of making some satisfactory college students stu-dents available for military service ser-vice and the absence of a test score may mean the difference as far as deferments are concerned," con-cerned," Colonel Clay said. |
