DENNIS SMITH Staff Writer The University's delegation to the Arnold Air Society's 18th annual conclave returned Friday from Dallas, Tex. with one of the Society's most coveted awards. GAIL Rich, commander of the Angel Flight, was crowned "Little General" of the nation by Brig. Gen. William C. Lindley, commandant of AFROTC at a Military Ball held at the Dallas Statler Hilton Hotel Tuesday night. She is the first Utah Angel ever to receive this award. THE 17 nominees were narrowed nar-rowed to four finalists Tuesday afternoon, and were required to speak to approximately 2,400 cadets and Angels, representing 169 squadrons. Gail, who spent several months in Europe last year, warmed the hearts of the future Air Force officers when she related her thoughts as she watched May Day parades in central Europe. SHE said the military strength presented by the Communist powers gave her a realization of the importance of being an American. Her feelings symbolized the common identity and purpose of all those in attendance. "SHE WAS the ideal girl," said one cadet after her speech. Bob Hope was the master of ceremonies for the Awards Banquet Ban-quet held Wednesday night at which Gail was an honored guest. ALSO PRESENT were: astronauts astro-nauts Edward White and James McDivitt, who piloted the "walk in space" Gemini flight; Gen. John P. McConnell, Air Force Chief of Staff; and Gen. Bernard A. Schriever, Air Force Systems Sys-tems Commander, who will be visiting the University April 22. "YOU CANT be a general without stars," quipped Maj. Gen. LeBailey, chief Air Force information officer, as he presented pre-sented Gail with two of his own ' stars. ' '?Rlbe1n, fctionTVrowned "Little General" of " y Brig. Gen. William C.
