Show Beaux Arts To Stage U. Concert The Beaux Arts Trio of New York will perform Monday night in Kingsbury Hall at 8:15 p.m. The conceft is being sponsored by the ASUU Artist and Speakers Speak-ers Committee. THE TRIO is composed of Menahem Pressler, pianist; Daniel Dan-iel Guilet, violinist; and Bernard Greenhouse, cellist. This threesome has had the distinction of having played nine consecutive seasons at the Berkshire Berk-shire Music Festival in Tangle-wood, Tangle-wood, a record for any chamber group. IN APRIL of last year the Trio was awarded "The Grand Prix du Disque" in Paris. Last year the trio played for the Library of Congress in Washington, Wash-ington, where they played for the fourth season when they gave the world premiere of the Ingolf Dahl Triple Concerto. MENAHEM PRESSLER, a young Israeli pianist, was born in Germany, but fled to Israel when Hitler came into power. He came to international prominence when he won the Debussy prize at the age of 17. Daniel Guilet, is famed in Europe and America, as soloist and chamber musician. He was born in France and attended the National Conservatoire in Paris. BERNARD Greenhouse, cellist, is on the faculties of the Manhattan Man-hattan School of Music in New York and the University of Hartford. |
